Crack Monitoring

Crack Monitoring is the precise measurement of a crack using a set of digital callipers measuring to a 0.3mm tolerance.

Bradgate Surveying will visit your property following the receipt of the instruction and install Demec stainless steel monitoring studs. We use strong gel adhesive which is non-intrusive and can easily be removed. A measurement between the centre holes of the studs and this data is recorded and repeated periodically (Normally on a 2-monthly basis) to establish movement trends (Is the cracking opening or closing and when are the movements taking place). The equipment we use to complete the measurements is digital callipers, and use methods set out in the BRE Digest 343 and BRE Digest 386.
